It's sad. The contrast of what Diana was at the school when she bravely protected Maxim VS how she is at her own home is sad. All she wanted was to spend some time with her mother and I felt like crying when she was slapped just like that. That too because of her marks which I suppose are great enough because she came 2nd but rich parents and their expectations. Anyways, I won't say rich or poor because most parents pressure their kids like this. At least, mine did. Such toxicity leaves with trauma and this chapter makes me want to know Diana on a deeper level.
