Author, I think you mean tracheostomy, not laryngectomy. A tracheostomy is where you insert a tube into the existing airways via an incision in the throat. A laryngectomy is where the airway is detached from the muscle walls, and brought to the surface of the throat. Additionally, a laryngectomy generally involves the complete or partial removal of the vocal cords. Not sure if a translation error or a typo or what, but thought I’d point it out. Unless that is what you meant, in which case, wow.
