I don't understand. What part of the webnovel did he manipulate Ling'er? Maybe I'm blind, but didn't he keep pushing her away? In fact, didn't he give her the cultivation technique to change her fate about the whole arrange marriage thing? It was wholly her fault she fell for him, but didn't he kept pushing her away and only gave in in the later chapters?
While I agree that what was done in the original novel is manipulation, the MC of this novel is 13 now. He was in his early 20’s so let’s say 22. That’s 9 years older. And while I agree having sexual relations with a 13 year old is off putting. He is also 13 so he can’t be with older women or they are doing exactly what he doesn’t want to do. Plus with cultivation age no longer means anything after they become adults. Which is 14-15, as their wold Ismail harsh they mature faster. Also cultivation should speed up mental and physical development. So you should view 15 as the ***** age. And with him being 22 a 7 year difference isn’t a big deal. Hell you can see a 22 year old and a 16 year old as a normal couple in countries where the age of consent is 15-16. So while ya I believe a 200 year old manipulating a 13 year old is bad. A 22 year old in the body of a 13 year old having a non sexual relationship with another 13 year old (as long as he doesn’t manipulate her) is ok.
One thing I think is great when authors criticize MCs. If the author were in Nie Li's place, he wouldn't go after girls close to his physical age right? You should always reject any woman who is less than 10 to 15 years older than him physically, otherwise you are wrong to deceive them. One more thing, it doesn't mean that I agree with MCs going after minors, but I would like to know when that person can have a relationship then.
