The ending gave me a mixed feeling. The story has a happy ending yet why does it have to end with Gong Zeli's pov? Now ai feel sad for his unrequited love

It would be good to have a spin off with him and have him finally finding love and happiness. Love this book over all!!

I wish that they'd wrapped up Qiao Chen's mother's death a bit more clearly. It's obvious that 2nd Madam Mo is planning to try and get rid of him although we all know it won't work. I'd have preferred that arc over Anxin's comeback and subsequent death. Also, having Zeli be the final POV feels weird as an ending choice.

Good Read though the ending is lacking the excitement of the whole story. Feels like a to be continued instead of a beautiful ending to a great story
