I want to know why is the stepwife so interested in the stepson's life. It is very clear that she hates and is obsessed with him. LW, leaving his father with a stepmother like that is understandable. Somehow, not really in defence of the father I get the feeling that prior to marrying that woman, she threatened him with the son's life. Hence the father attempts of trying to reach him now. That truth should come out soon enough. Appreciative of the chapter.
