This is the darker side of Gael, that he doesn’t want Angela to see because she has already told him she hates violence. Since he was 16, this is the world he has known....he is immune to the violence because he has been immersed in it. His redeeming quality is that he has a sweet, soft & loving side. He wants to make the businesses legitimate too. It was uncomfortable to read how he bent down to the upturned, tortured captive to question him, but we all know Gael has a dangerous side. A great author provokes feelings from a reader & in this case it might be a sense of uncomfortableness as our image of Gael with Angela displaying his tender, loving & protective side is challenged. Can’t wait until he comes face to face with Evan, which is surely inevitable?!?! Maybe then we’ll really see his darkest side. Thank you Nixxxie - its been lovely to read this on a laid back Sunday. Great chapter!!!!
