Blech, terrible writing here. This is incredibly forced. How did the old man find him again when he hadn't seen him since that one conversation, let alone know he'd purchased a house in the vicinity? The leap of logic as well to assume that Roland has anything to do with this weird rock is astronomical, why not assume that this healthy young man was going into the woods to do/deal drugs or get into trouble if you thought he was suspicious? How do you jump over every single more plausible solution to 'he is connected to this mysterious rock we found'. If its so obvious at a glance, how do you know it wasn't just being used as a meeting point?
