z the only way I see this making sense is Ryan was Rave but the accident caused him amnesia as well as the need for cosmetic surgery changing his appearance. And the familiar guy is Philip who is jealous and hates Rave because he had always secretly loved her, so he tried to kill Rave and that's what he feels guilty about. But if this is the scenario then right now your story is VERY convoluted!!!!!!

Ok this book is already super confusing. Why did the familiar guy in the restaurant call Ryan as Rave, but Ryan has said he met her for the first time when he almost got hit by the lorry. And she doesn't even recognize him. And then the familiar guy is talking about making something up to her as if he is Rave and is in love with her. I understand that the author is intentionally making it mysterious but this doesn't make sense
