how about switching to Asuma's POV by having him guard the exam sites throughout the whole exams including the one month respite and the concluding tournament, with shadows of clues of a soon to be brewing conflits showing their heads. This way you can highlight the differences of the changes of the teams without really having to do a battle sequence and just give cliff notes of those battles or tourny matches. Let it be all from his POV observing everything while catching clues in the shadows of future problems.
