I think the the oracle doesnt see itself winning the war.. and is bence trying to introduce random factors eg ruby/digestors into the mix so that it might have an unpredictable chance to win. I think its a gamble by oracle as a final ditch effort.

Oh I see, the oracle mission must have been cut off somehow, it's supposed to say "Don't let ruby hale die, kill her yourself".

Why should he even accept this mission? Missions are dependent on the guide feature and we already know that the guide is unreliable when it comes to dealing with Digestors. How can Jake be sure that this mission won't cause his death in the ordeal?

I can't wait to see Jake rage at the oracle.

For Jake to accept this mission the prize at least be an artifact or a way to level his soul class. I hope he at least wait Ruby's pockets to run dry.

i would agree with others saying to not do the mission, but the rewards for doing the mission would probably be worth it, plus it has the added benefit of more story progression between them

Possible death, she almost killed him multiple times and she caused the situation she's in, all these vs massive benefits from the Oracle? Common sense would say to leave her but that's temporary satisfaction, if the reward is high enough, he should save her but only if the reward is so high that not accepting is like cutting off his head in the ordeal. Apart from that, let her die. Easy peazy ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Tbh, I think Jake is being played. I think Ruby is the real protagonist the Oracle has picked. Jake is just a poor sucker being used to bail her out of problems she creates. Think about it. Jake very emotionally vulnerable in the beginning of this story. I bet the Oracle took advantage of him and had him connect with Ruby. She's an invincible, wealthy, manipulative, psychopath that can use Digestor powers. An ideal weapon. And it's been proven that the Oracle will take steps to protect her. It lets other people die, no problem. Ruby? Gotta save her. Gotta lie and manipulate Jake into saving her. I'm just saying.
