Honestly, I find it more refreshing for the mc to shine, but not only him. Think of real life, how many fields only have one sole genius? Only having the protagonist overpowered is a pitfall most webnovels fall into. Advantages are nice, but when power-ups and frequent 'I'm a special snowflake' events occur it gets stale, reallll fast. Plus, that's the heroine who is foreshadowed to be special anyway. Jake himself is a walking cheat - who else gets once in a lifetime training (through his efforts), and getting close to important people and npcs - maybe Ruby. How about solely discovering Digestors, some very disturbing oracle secrets + life changing rewards? Not even Ruby Hale can compare. See, not only Jake has sporadic but amazing luck, he also has cockroach tenacity, and he just keeps on developing to the peak of all humans out there with unlimited potential in his bloodline.
Dear author, we already guessed she will be a romantic interest for the MC long ago, and that you are trying to bring her in the relationship as an equal, but the MC already had too much progress and too many lucky encounters as any MC should, you can't give MC privileges to an extra, we are here for the MC, we stayed for more than 300 chapters without reading anything about her, you can bring her in if the plot requires it in a meaningful way, but please dear author if you read this, please don't disrespect the MC's progress or Watertown all his achievements for an extra, I think I speak for everyone when I say we don't need a Mary Sue BS, my question is why do they need to be equals? Sarah and Lu Yan seems to be taking the fact that the MC is above them well enough.
Happy to see that he will remain a "Titan Greece" and will not become a vampire (long life were-creatures). Also the prospect of this contract could become fun, if play well he could cultivate a good ally (always hope a good girlfriend too). And for Ruby.... I think it would be more interesting see her as a good rival than a possible girlfrien candidate for Jake
