More subplots with subplots...will author ever resolved these multiple stacks of embedded scenarios? I am enjoying it, but I wonder if he will ever write his way out if this deep hole? It’s like things keep getting put off and delayed until later...will the story end when he finally confronts his current timeline problems or will he escape into another timeline and leave all loose threads unresolved?

I feel bad for the flame cultivator... he was introduced only to make our cautious protagonist have a reason to throw caution to the wind...
