The funny thing is, it's impossible to tell what's going on. Most of the important info chapters are told in Lin's pov.... Lin's....pov..... He downplays everything or misintrepts all the time. The only time information is reliable from Lin(when he's hyper aware and comes to the correct conclusion) is when it doesn't even matter. When you step back and look at the track records, I'm more willing to believe everything Lin thinks is false, and everything his mother, sisters, and disciples think of him is true.
