I am so confused

I don't like the way the MC adapts to the new world. I mean few authors put it in a credulous way. Why is this that "as I am super intelligent I have to accept it" is like saying "I am super special so it is normal that I adapt where others cannot" the guy even with this super magical system should be super scared and confused. And while it is true that human beings adapt quickly to sometimes extreme circumstances that put them in this way makes me less immersed in history.

couldn't really immerse myself in the story. seems to skip over parts that could make the character more likeable

Dropped because of the first person perspective change. Sigh.
