Thoughts and The Start

'Why do I want to stay here?

Cause this place is....familiar, people are..... familiar

What if there are better people there, better environment there?

But I am comfortable here, I don't want to risk this

Wasn't I bullied at the starting years of school....

It seems someone is calling me'

Kenchi can hear someone calling his name as the voices gets louder and louder.

"Kenchi!!!!"

A male student of his class gently pushes him to make him stop spacing out, the male student is accompanied by two more students as well.

"Can't you hear me man."

Asks the student.

"I was lost in thoughts"

Replies Kenchi.

"Well, anyways, we are heading out for a walk, wanna join?"

"Its already lunch break!!"

Kenchi suddenly stands up as he is surprised of how he didn't hear the bell ring.

"Jesus, stop sleeping in class. Now, wanna join?"

Kenchi almost says yes but stops as he looks towards the new student who is also looking back at him and smiling .

"I have some work to do so I will be staying in the class, you all go ahead"

"As you wish"

The three students take their leave. As soon as those three leave, the new student, Godo Izanami stands up and walks towards Kenchi's seat.

"I am pretty sure you have questions to ask"

Says Godo as he sits parallel to him.

"Where you the god who came in my dream last night and made the deal?"

"Yes"

"Why? What are you gaining from it?"

Kenchi leans a little bit forward.

"Nothing. I am just giving you a chance."

"Everybody knows I am leaving in 15 days. Why someone will start getting close to me now?"

"Well, that's not my problem"

"He... hello"

Suddenly a female student greets Godo with a shy voice.

"Hey"

Replies Godo, waving his hand with a big and bright smile.

"I am....Fumino... nice to meet you"

The girl properly introduces herself with the face blushing red.

"I am Godo Izanami, nice to meet you"

Godo keeps maintaining his bright smile as an awkward silence fills the air. Meanwhile Kenchi is looking towards the door where his friend who just invited him is talking to his crush, laughing and giggling while leaning on the door. The girl has blonde hair with sharp face and blue eyes to go with it, she is also tall with a soft body.

"You already made a.... friend it seems"

Says Fumino to break the silence as she points towards Kenchi, with a surprise look on her face.

"Yes, he is a pretty nice guy"

"Did he tell you that he is leaving in few weeks?"

"Yes, so I will just make the most of the time I have with him"

"Oh, nice. Well.....can I...get your cellphone number?"

Asks Fumino, shyly forwarding her hand with the cellphone towards Godo for exchanging numbers.

"I don't have a cellphone"

"Oh, well, its ok. I will be taking my leave"

Fumino leaves with disappointment clearly visible on her face. Godo looks towards Kenchi who is still staring at her crush.

"I assume she is the one you like"

Asks Godo to distract Kenchi.

"Yeah"

"What's her name?"

"Mio. Wait, you are a literal god. How do you not know her name?"

"I do know her name"

"SO WHY DID YOU ASK?!!!!"

Kenchi gets frustrated.

"Well. I know her name cause you just told me"

Kenchi's frustration increases dangerously

"She is having fun talking to your friend it seems"

"Yeah"

Kenchi frowns.

"Its almost impossible to make her fall for me. It is rumored that she likes that guy, Toshiro. And I also have only fifteen days"

Kenchi's voice softens as he shares his hopelessness with Godo

"Until and unless you hear this from her, your only trouble is the deadline. Well anyways, have this book, its a pretty nice read"

Godo puts forward his hand which is holding a novel. Kenchi takes the novel from his hand and reads the title to realize that he has already read that novel.

"I have it already"

Says Kenchi, putting his hand forward to give the novel back to Godo.

"Of course you do. I took this from your book shelf"

"WHAT?!"

Kenchi immediately opens the novel to see the first page to find that it has his initials written on it.

"Stop taking my stuff without my permission!!!"

"Chill. It has a purpose, just keep holding this till we reach home"

"We?"

"Well. I am staying with you for fifteen days"

"WHAT!!!!! HOW MANY MORE THINGS ARE THERE FOR ME TO KNOW?!!"

Kenchi again infuriates.

"This is the last"

Godo gives off a bright smile.

As the bell rings for the final time in the school, Kenchi finds himself walking back home with Toshiro who is still busy talking with Mio.(Mio, Toshiro and Kenchi are neighbors)

'Why am I even here?'

Kenchi's thoughts starts running as he keeps looking towards the two of them.

'And why am I carrying this novel?!'

Kenchi is reading the novel which was given by Godo in the lunch break as he asked Kenchi to hold it while walking back home before disappearing in thin air.

"Well, I guess we have to go separate ways"

Says Toshiro as he waves them good bye before taking a right turn towards a small alley. Kenchi half heartedly waves back before continuing to read the novel.

"Is this the novel, 'someone like you'?"

Asks Mio as she peeks on the pages Kenchi's on before realizing that she has read that novel.

"I never thought you will be a bookworm as well"

Says Mio with excitement.

"Yeah, I have shelfs full of books"

Replies Kenchi to make her know that he is indeed, a bookworm.

"Really!!!!!"

"Yeah"

"Mind if I borrow one?"

Suddenly Mio makes a request with puppy eyes.

"Sure thing. You tell me which one you..."

"Thank you so much!!I will be at your house today evening at six"

Kenchi is cut mid sentence.

"Ummmm.... su...sure"

Kenchi stutters as the sudden plan of Mio visiting his house today makes him nervous and surprised at the same time. They continue walking silently. Kenchi, admiring her beautiful face with hairs running wild because of the wind which makes her look more pretty as his heart beat faster and faster.

"Kenchi"

Mio breaks the silence as she suddenly stops walking and looks towards him which makes him stumble for a moment.

"Ye....yeah"

"Ummmmm, your house, we are standing in front of it"

"Oh yeah, I became careless"

Kenchi blushes red as he gives a little laugh to walk off the embarrassment.

"Well, see you at six"

"See you at six"

They wave each other goodbye before Mio walks a few steps ahead, opening the front gate of her house which is next to Kenchi's house.

All the while Kenchi keeps looking at her until she disappears behind the thin wall separating the two houses.

"Well, I have to prepare"
