What is the point of wolves being this stupid in fantasy cliché novels? No matter what. Wolves either move in packs and attack with full force or one of them acts as bait to lure victims in before killing that person/animal who tried to attack the bait. The wolf leader would NEVER just let his own pack die. A lone wolf is weak but a pack is strong so there is no way that the wolf leader would watch silently while mc murders his family. Make animals/monsters smarter. They need more credit than what they are given.
