Ok, now I understand more why modern Ming behaved like this and I'm very sorry for her. đ˘ She was really alone and couldn't trust anybody, blinded by the fear and insecurity. It's very hard to trust anyone wen you grow in a family like hers and you tend to believe more to anything suspicious. You feel like you don't have your own place in the world, and you're just an unwanted child, replaced by the step sister. Your beloved mother also an unwanted wife, used and never loved. Maybe her grandfather was too late (I'm not blaming him in any way) for her to make her feel loved and secure. So modern Ming was feeling always afraid that at any moment she could be betrayed again by the person she loved or trusted, mostly because her step sister and "family" continued meddling and conspiring against her. Aaand.. I'm imagining that in a situation like that is very, very difficult and terrifying to try to open up and trust or love someone, even if you want this so hard. ... Well... đ.. She was a sensitive, lonely and prideful child, mistreated for so long... đ˘ Now I have faith that she will redeem herself and Zaho Ming in ancient times, and I want to cheer for her too! đ¤
You mean cliche... a clique is a group of friends (sometimes frenemies). I'm quite tempted to offer editing services since this chapter still has problems even though its noted as edited. I dont know the process though. I would probably be inclined more if it's a download through a program like Word rather than web based. I tend to ignore most issues when reading online novels bc I read machine translation too and they are often a clusterf*** of wrong pronouns and bad translations... kind of reminds me of parsing manuscripts. A good editor can make all the difference in your book. I shall continue to read and lurk.
