If so no one would really bother the Abotts about a potential marriage cause squibs of the founders are considered valuable and worthy to marry to inherit traits from the bloodline. Would this make Lily a half-blood? If so she would be accepted by the purebloods much more easily seeing as she is of Salazars line. Squibs are being treated better now and are seen to have value to pureblood families so if Petunia is a squib she will be seen and treated better in the wizarding world.
