Damm man! You are one of the guys that understand the dumbles best. Well, he may not be evil in the story but he was fu**ed up nonetheless.

Your Dumbledore is a great mix of powerful and evil dark lord hidden in the shadows, and a lazy, overconfident, and lacking in common sense wizard. It's understandable though, since his "opponents" are all like this, lazy, dumb, mostly incompetent, and with no common sense. He was at the top for so long, with no one finding out the truth about him, that he can't conceive it being any different! Though I'm interested how Harry will solve the problem with Christmas, since it's a "doomed if you do, doomed if you don't" situation. Unless he can do something like getting Madam Bones to pick him up and stay with her, or in a secure location, possibly with a spin of Harry hiding from possible assassins, and living in the muggle world with no protections. And I'd like to see what will be with the invisibility cloak

So considering his influence in Australia, does he have any pull in new Zealand? Dumbledore really shouldn't think so confidently about that stuff, our MC will make sure that he jinxed it. Give it a couple of months and news of that quiditch team allowing a magic zoologist to do some tests to clear up rumours around the abilities and preferences of a Phoenix.
