In a world where having thousands of years for a cultivator is normal, this trap is useless, when he is 100 or more years old it would not serve him, because 25 years is nothing for a very old cultivator.

The downside of this "normal cheat" is that now to experience growth he's gonna get a **** ton of random encounters and "lucky breaks" the reason why cheats are so popular is so that a way for the MC to stand out and be better than others can be decided whilst having a solid set of restrictions and or goals to overcome those restrictions right off the bat.
