We can't deny the fact that there are still lots of men like "Isaac Lee" out there and women like "Demi".. This patriachy system and mysoginistic men have never shown any healthy and good results in the society. I believe they only result on the feeling of insecurities both in men and women. I have seen many men and women suffer from this distorted pointvof view of the role of men and women either in society or in family. I myself am a mother of two sons. I have made up my mind and made sure myself my sons will never become an "Isaac Lee" when they grow up and their future wives will never have to be a "Demi" to satisfy their egos.

As much as i don't like that old man's view, unfortunately it does happen out there among us Asians. I like Lily's point. Men and women should complement each other and stand side by side. We are equal.

By the end of this... if Demi still dares to covet Jingren, she deserves whatever the couple delivers after this farce of a dinner is over. On another note, I bet when the old man dies, the person he’ll call for would be his mother. 😤

Well, that depends on one's culture. Not all Asian countries are having that patriarchal tradition. In our country, men and women are on equal footing, they are partner and women are empowered to do what she likes or achieve in life. In short, there are no traditional restrictions for women in our society. Hence, the old fool's view & his minions in putting Lily down will not work as she is exposed to modern society where man & woman are on equal footing
