Malgino stole the vampires' secret to immortality. The crimson crystal, which held the vampires' blood, used to beat like a humans heart. It gave an infinite power, to the thief. I think Malgino lost the Crimson Crystal. He might be looking for it. Chris's dad just happened to buy a crimson crystal, that was supposed to be magical. Chris thought her Christmas gift was an ordinary pendant. I think, Chris's necklace, is the missing Vampire life-line.
