You should at least talk to yourself. Don’t break. Even if everyone considers everything an illusion or a dream.” A useful reminder all around. I have so many feelings upon finishing this. I do want to point out that the novel has been revised now on Munpia and that there are extra/side chapters to read, and that ORV’s post-epilogue side stories will apparently have Jaehwan appear at some point too, so there is more to look forward to. And even if there wasn’t, we can always write whatever we imagine or ‘sense’ of their reality afterwards, I guess is the idea here? All of their stories all seem to point at the readers continuing on the stories they tell, and the characters being important even if their stories do not ‘end’ in the traditional manner because of the cyclical nature of all universes. Just… lots of feelings. I thought this was a silly and bizarre story about a stabby man I couldn’t relate to, and then they hit me with all the philosophical and scientific theories and quandaries that I already know about and speculate on and dream about so like, woah. Classic Sing-Shong, tbh. Thank you, Sing-Shong. Even if you drive me literally insane with the things you share from other world lines :P
So to say, the real last chapter was the last arc. And this arc was the epilogue. So you're telling me there's no explanation for what happened to Jaehwan and Jaehwan's two inner selves came to an agreement without him realizing it. So, essentially, Jaehwan is... ... I'm dissatisfied, but in a resigned way. Like an "Ah, I should've seen this coming" way. Really, the only reason why I read this to the end at all was because I wanted to see what happened to Jaehwan. And, well, I did. And I didn't get closure at all. But I suppose Jaehwan did. I want to see what happens next. But I can't because that's the end. Really frustrating. Makes me think he's somewhere, doing something. There's no way to know and that's angering. That said, to be contrary, I loved the ending because of how madly infuriated I feel lmao
Wow I’m like this kinda makes sense and kinda doesn’t? So he causes the fall and destroys everything but ends up in some other world. And then everybody else is left behind in the ruins and passes on while hoping he comes back? And then sirwen maybe comes up with a way for him to come back? Or maybe she built it and he’s already coming back and just happens to find it? I dunno, so confused that I’m more confused the more I think...
