For me Zekells ranking of awesome characters just got way better

Dude… FFS… This is why I can’t drop this novel no matter what, even ”side” or “unimportant” characters have depth and time dedicated to developing them without it feeling like a chore or a waste of time

Tough to relfect sometimes. The feelings between jealousy and inadequacy are paper thin. More so with sucess and greed. It is the measure of a person to temper themselves not to over indulge and to recognize when you’ve gone too far. Never forget those who’ve helped you on your way to success.

zekell is a great dad and I'm glad he's getting senton to see the truth about how lith provided the opportunity but zekell grew from it and made his business what it is through his hard work

Knew he would go on hiatus again, glad I didn’t waste money on privileged chapters.

Everything Zekelle said is correct, he definitely did the right thing to grow his business but he didn’t draw enough of a clear line between business and family. Yes Sentons Pride and Ego might be wounded but his feelings aren’t wrong IMO, the way he has expressed them is what’s wrong. Think about life from his perspective, he Loves Rena but it’s not her parents he had to get her hand from but her murderous little brother instead. Then Lith has never liked him and has never even tried to hide it. Can you imagine having to deal with an in-law, that clearly doesn’t like you and can easily kill you but doesn’t because it would make your wife upset? Rena married into Sentons family and yet the characters and readers make it seem like he was the one who married into her family. Like he should be grateful for the fact that Lith is his brother-in-law. Status plays a large role in that happening cause why would anybody care about his family name when his wife’s brother is the Supreme Magus and many feel he should be ok with this and that’s messed up imo. Basically I guess what I’m trying to say is that they all realistically should’ve been regular NPC villagers but due to some random and lucky circumstances they aren’t and I think honestly Senton is the only person who still recognizes that. At least that’s my opinion about his character

This is why I like this novel. Even though sometimes it gets over dramatic, it more than compensates for it with moments like these.

One of the things I love about this series is that you make the characters feel like actual people. Even the non main ones have depth.
