I like how he's handling this. By treating it as a business transaction, he's showing the royals a lot of things. First, whether they accept or decline, the only one harmed will be them, he has nothing to lose except an early chance to kill Orpal. Second, by removing his own emotions from the table, it's easier for him to get a read on theirs and manipulate them into agreeing. Finally, by acting disinterested he's able to wring more benefits out of them due to them believing he has more to offer them than they do to him.

is it me or do these chapters feel like they're getting shorter?
