dusk just took the first step to being better even though he did help her it wasn't right away he can still play the I told you so but because he stop the pain and healed her and cared for her after she will trust his words more and maybe eventually have something similar to dawn and acula something not even baba yaga could ever see coming.
i'm starting to lose interest in the story, it feels that Orpal is being set up as the final hurdle and mad genius in the story, and it just feels underserved. Like how he gets so much stronger and smarter in a year, to the point where he managed to beat manohor and outsmart thrud despite displaying clear childishness and underappreciation of the knowlege/power Night gave him. I also understand that Night is hard carrying him, but the focus is still on Orpal and not on Night. It feels that Lith's journey and effort is being made redundant, I understand that Lith is impressive at 21 years old and that it is fast all things considering, but he still has had problems via relationship to family/friends/lovers, to his cracked core, to his lesser magical/life expierance and education, to helping Solus, to the expectations placed opon him on others, and his own personal problems via past lives/fear of death/understanding what he is and what he can do. I like Liths character because despite all the bad things that has happened to him, he still manages to overcome it via knowledge, preperation, strength, sacrifice and a miniscule amount of luck. In conparison Orpal was a jobber villian at the start of the story that should have came back only to reinforce the characters desicion and personal views, instead he suddenly became the Dead King Orpal that had also been the fake balkor. Speaking of the fake Balkor saga, it was obvious to the point where I didn't want to acknowledge it and instead go for someone more interesting and less boring.
