Calling her the most brilliant mind of her generation seems like a big stretch. I mean i know Lith says he pales in comparison to her in natural talent but what has she actually accomplished? Even in her chosen field we’ve not been shown anything of substance, whereas Lith has shared multiple personal spells what have had great effects and stopped Kandria.
Theory: Mogar is similar to Solus, only on a MUCH larger scale. And mana geisers would be where Mogar's mana pathways come to the surface. I mean it would explain why Solus can travel between mana geisers and why when she nearly died she ended up in Mogar's little paradise. Might also explain Solus's Mana Vision to a certain extent. I don't know if someone else has already put this theory forward but I would be interested to hear your thoughts.
I feel like Quylla's character is being forced to be relevant or catch up to 'her genius' title of this story. To me, it doesn't flow naturally to the story. First, she was stated not doing anything for 1 year after balork's attack and when she resumed school, the author let us know she was out of practice but she still cut up, but few chapters ago, we found out she never stop practicing magic and she also somehow learnt basic forgemastering during that period. And in the current chapters, though it's not really obvious, but when Quylla is around, other characters suddenly arent smart or not thinking about the obvious things just to make her smart. It was stated she was focussing on body sculpting throughout her days in the academy as an assistant professor, and was the main reason she went to kulda, there was never any sing or prelude to her studying plant physiology. I love the story but when things just pops out of nowhere without and building it kinda makes it not to feel so part of the story or natural.
