I can't see how that would make them true mages. In the first place, I never really understood why true mages aren't more common

I don't get the logic how Solus gets to suspect that they become true mages... Isn't true magic a thing that you do or need to understand rather than simply be born with it? Why would getting cured from a disease help you with your understanding?

The idea for thw parasitic plague is interesting to me especially the different species that were intended for thw othwr countries.

what i'm wondering about is if it would be possible to "force" a breakthrough, so far it seems the breakthroughs have been due to straining the body repetitively, so perhaps it would be possible to use darkness and light in combination to constantly destroy and rebuild the body, dislodging impurities in the process
