This chapter is a bit confusing in terms of XJ's thoughts for me. She was wishing that she could fail in her duties but, at that point, she had clearly already done something wrong to LX. The former seems just lackadaisical, almost, while the latter is intentional. I mean she seems delusional but still, the transition between thoughts felt odd. Maybe I read the part where she was hoping to be dismissed thinking she meant permanently, while she meant "I can't wait to get out of here so I don't get caught!"

Thank you for the chapter! I have the unnerving suspicion that, despite the guy mentioning the Crown Prince, that he's not FROM the Yu Zhen... I'd suspect he's actually from her "benefactor," whoever that is. 😓😱 Why keep around such volatile, obvious, loose ends? 😕 I'd be happy if YZ is the one who caught her but really unhappy with this if it means delaying the truth for LX and YZ!
