He’s always had the ability to rip any life form down and turn it in to rose. Well at least since he was a king on the stage when he ripped the human that had a Grimm inside it. But he chose to draw a line and only do it to grime back then. (This made sense when it was Grimm vs human and nothing else was there much). Why he doesn’t do it in this myriad of races world makes no sense. There is countless variants of humanoids so I’ mguessing it’s just author choice at this point.
