I am getting the feeling that the size of the demon and human population are very small and feels more like a tribe or clan occupying a very small portion isolated from the rest of the world, I mean how are the demons content with one human per year as sacrifice. The scale of things feels too small here

Cliffs. Always saving the mc when they need it most. After falling off of a cliff the mc usually either survives the fall due to plot armor, thus escaping danger, or reincarnates into another world, staring their road to becoming a bada**. Whenever there is a cliff, the Mc will almost always jump off it.
