I strongly feel that any self respecting woman should handle her own finances (if legally possible). Make sure you take care of yourself first and then others. How can you support/help others if you do not help yourself? Relationships can always fail, make sure you have something to fall back on (again, if legally possible).

How could she became an illegal at their country? I think,at least she should had travelling visa.
