Jung Heewon, Best Friend Award goes to her😂 On the other hand, Yoo Jonghyuk's reaction was somewhat predictable, as shown in the novel, his hostility to Anna Croft is bone-deep. Let's take a look at the similariy between Anna Croft and Kim Dokja, they both have prophets as their identity(Kim Dokja only pretended to be one). Yoo Jonghyuk was "used" and "deceived" by both of them(Now, just to be clear, Kim Dokja really didn't intend to do those things but it came to Yoo Jonghyuk as such, he belived that was Kim Dokja's motive for helping him) Now, since Kim Dokja became somewhat a "key" person in his life, and now suddenly he felt his "companion" manipulated him, then it was normal to have such an intense reaction to the point of getting revenge through any means.
Yoo Jonghyuk... Seriously the OG had already abandoned Kim Dokja... and now... I'm seriously crying right now... My heart aches for this poor character. This might sound too harsh but I think that Yoo Jonghyuk had grown too self-centered (even though he is the protagonist) with his emotions. All he cares is how HE is suffering and doesn't look further. That sunfish's personality may have become a little more tolerable, but his inner-self is still the same. Still rather egotistical.
It makes sense that YJH is this upset. He had trusted Anna Croft and hurt by her betrayal but KDJ matter is even more shattering to him in a sense because he found a meaning in his life, he found reasons to not give into regression, he found "life and death companionship", only to later find out (in his mistaken idea) that it was all a lie, that he was nothing but a pawn. Without knowing the details and full extent of KDJ's knowledge, his self-sacrifices don't have the same meaning either; e.g. does YJH think KDJ knew he would survive those sacrifices? In any case, it is as if, he was told the meaning of his life was a lie... it is a heavy burden. He is not sociable nor is he good in empathy, instead he is prone to act on impulse; I am not surprised he just up and left... Running from this emotional trauma, trying to preserve his sense of self by assuming the worst and focusing on the scenario--that's just his mind works, that's his go-to coping mechanism. I dearly hope KDJ can find a way to explain himself and more importantly make YJH listen, because the level of upset of YJH just proves the depth of his feelings for KDJ and I think, while stubborn, he is wants to believe KDJ. Truly does.
