It culminates in such a high point, it feels like their bond that has grown over the hundreds of chapters till now, the relationship that developed bit by bit by these two selfish, lonesome guys who are afraid of trust has finally reached a peak that is undeniable in its great depth and affection. It is tender, urgent, angry, strong--and all this is conveyed so well. You don't need to ship them or anything, regardless how you interpret their relationship, this is perfect and beautiful.
