Comments of chapter undefined of Solo Leveling(Only I Level Up)

I’m curious to how he survived... Anyone else wanting the MC to die so we can get another one?

I see a lot of comments saying he’s dumb because he doesn’t figure everything out, but I feel that’s unfair. Sure he’s doing a bad job so far of using his “player” status, but if I were him and suddenly started seeing and hearing things I wouldn’t assume I was a game character and had powers, I’d assume I was going crazy. You’re all acting like he should perfectly believe understand and use his new powers, but that’s unrealistic. First he had to believe they’re real, which while being a bit dramatic of a way of doing so, the penalty accomplished. Since he’s obviously not a gamer, it’s understandable he doesn’t understand his powers. I will concede he could easily google it to gain a decent understanding, but not perfect as every system is slightly different and his wouldn’t exist as a game he could google.

24 and he has never played video games? In this day and age? I really hate stupid characters so I hope he figures things out soon.

Reading the MC is dumb comments made me realize that a lot of people reading don't really understand the implications of suddenly having an interface which only you can interact with. Even for someone living in this sort of a realistic but fictional world, they'd have a hard time adjusting. So it's normal to be dumb. Yes this is a story but the author is aiming for realistic behavior which is often just being dumb in situations you aren't prepared for.

And I'm done with this novel, I hoped the author would get out of the habit of "SFX this and that" but it seems he will not. How bad at writing do you have to be to fill half of your novel with "boom!" "ouch!" and "tti-ring" and then when you have a chance to describe something us "sfx this crap I'm too bad to describe it!"

He is not dumb, just a realist. An optimist with experience per say. He needs to see it to believe it, just like so many people these days. It's not ignorance it's a questioning attitude.

Idk why the mc cannot understand that he has a system but is fine that there are gates in the world with monsters. It might be new to have a system but he cant be that unadaptable

Re-reading and I have to admit the first 20 chapters really test the readers on whether to continue the story or drop it. I gets good and great at the end

You know people are saying he’s dumb and I know he’s living in a world where there’s monster things but what if you were him? You literally about to die but then you wake up and no injuries... and now you’re hearing voices and seeing things that isn’t normal. I would probably think I’m going crazy and in a dream or something. Like what normal person is going to say “Oh okay I’ll just follow all these things and ignore the fact that I am alive after I was going to die :D” like who thinks that?
