Haha! My prediction has strike yet again! Regarding the Oracle ability, my guess it came from a family of Sages that provides Oracles to the first humans or Gods. It could also come from a messenger, or a prophet, that receives Oracles from their God, like Jesus, Abraham, or Moses. It could also come from a certain Deity, particularly in Japan, where they gave the power of Oracle reading to select few, like shrine maidens

I feel like the Elder knew more than what she told Mark, but maybe there was a rule that did not allow she said anything... Not that sure about it. But what happened seemed like something she had knowledge of since she was sad that her grandaugther was too young.
