From a military family, literally has a family member in the military who is in charge of your escort. But just by whining they agree to let you join them. Pretty sure that is not how it works. I get that it's a story but that character trope is one of those that always rubs me the wrong way.

I will say that something does seem off about Authors Epic moments. Like with the split personality and this. Normally it would feel completely epic. There must be something off with the delivery though since it's only 60% epic and 40% lame.
