I completely understand that authors have jobs, families, etc. (and then there's the pandemic). However, when I wait for new chapters after a long hiatus (especially one that ends on a cliff) I tend to forget the story arc of the secondary characters. I spend a whole chapter scolling back while trying to figure out who the secondary characters are, then I lose interest in the book. I've paid for these 8 &9 coin chapters (I buy a membership) but I need a hypnotist to take me back in time to recall the plot, or I need to re-read the whole thing to recapture that dramatic tension...but I just end up dropping the book because without a recap or a character chart it feels like so much wasted time and money. It sucks because this is one of the best written female characters I've come across (since the last book I dropped because it went on hiatus. We even tried to contact the author as my company was interested in option in it for a drama, but the author never replied). Does anyone else lose interest and struggle to recall story arcs after a long hiatus, or it just me?ššā³ā
