This entire time Jeremy has been trying to convince Jake to meet his family and this is what has been going on behind his back. Jeremy is going to feel 10 times more guilty than he already does and Noah is but to get on him 10 times more than he already Does. I'm so glad Jake has the Atkins because this is too much. The only reason I can think of for the uncle to pay off the mom is so he can keep her quiet for some underhanded stuff he has done.

I have a theory. Could jake actually be the uncle's son? so basically the uncle had an affair with his brother's wife and they had Jake. This I think would explain why he was paying her to keep quiet especially since he is still paying her after the accident. And for the DNA test since they still have the same mother and Jake's father is Jeremy's uncle them matching as brothers would still make sense.
