Well... obviously he is obsessed with her. He wanted her for himself so he locked her up but he snapped when she said she didn't and never loved him. I'm not sure if he believes it's HER but I think at most, he is trying to get her now because of how much she reminds him of Xiao Ling... and that's really messed up. That's how obsessed he is that he'll even want a girl who has the same air and characteristics as his previous lover 😕
