finally she died..she's a woman full of greed and from her young life she was already traumatised by the cheating betrayal of her father and the weakess of her mother that makes her full of hate and untrustful..and greedy of power..well what she gain nothing..now she's dead..

I think all in all, Doris was never in love with Gu Qiwu. For someone like her, to fall in love is a weakness and that was proven in the earlier flashbacks. Her total disregard for men unless used as tools. Her hatred to Gu Qiwu is similar to what she felt for her father. With the exception of Glenn and this unknown Alex. Not to say she distrust all men but Glenn was an exception. So is this Alex, I assume she trusted him because she could control him? But I enjoyed the complexity of Doris’s character...she was rather well thought of by the author....

Actually, I’m glad Doris is dead. These C-novels like to make a villian disappear, get plastic surgery, plan an even more complex scheme, and return stronger for prolonged drama. They usually break up the couple and force one of them into a marriage and heaven knows what else. If Doris merely ended up in jail, she could still do damage. Her overseas connections would do the dirty work, bribe officials so she gets released, escape from prison or all of the above. Either way, Doris would be free and run amok.🤷🏽‍♀️

TBH, Doris is my 3rd favorite character in this story! And she got an easy end!
