Bei Chuan Yun Shang Jin
Xinyi FINALLY realizes she is and always was a joke! Moreover, she is currently in the same corner into which she shoved Xiaye: framed for an act she didn’t do, yet nobody believes her. My rant: The summary of Xinyi discovering Xiaye is a member of the legendary Shen family is blah. I read 600+ chapters wherein the hidden identity trope established the ultimate face slap for Xinyi, Wenwen, Lingsi, Yifen, Shanshan, and the Hans. The author let the readers down. We anticipated an epic moment, which fizzled. Much has to do with the “telling” technique: a drive-by explanation is underwhelming and disappointing. Wenwen is dead, Lingsi mentally checked out, and the rest are M.I.A. Marginally focusing on Xinyi’s reaction to the truth is a little satisfying, but I was expecting more from her since she was off the chain for a long time in the novel.
