Finding a ring just when the mc needed a game pod on the same day. Now this is what i called the famous ultimate plotarmor to speed up the story. Gaming stories has gotten less enjoyable after a few years. Let's hope at least the world building is nice.

The cliche that always piss me of...the friend of the mc is always a fat boy.... Why Chinese hate so much the fat people...

I like how a Chinese novel has the line "the government endorses it, how could they lie to us" when China regularly controls and spreads false information, and their various wrongdoings are covered up (Search Tiananmen square for example)

Our protagonist don't want to be average you say? He doesn't study and he is not fit. Surely he wants to become less than average.
