Perhaps all the heros are people that got transfered in the past and died there. He could very well be going into the tomb of an actual player.

True they do seem more like quests than mission so I guess its a combo of both? If u complete a quest u get a achievement and title. For a game boasting lots of achievements they prob added achievement for the small stuff to pad the number like npc savior or in order to get a mega achievement like traveler of countries he has to get small titles of going to every country like tudor tourist or somethin
