Comments of chapter undefined of The Bastard In The Zombie Apocalypse

Author, this chapter doesn't seem to fit with the last few chapters. The main character went from being so incredibly mad that his wrath made him a cold blooded mass murderer (much more than before) to someone just incredibly arrogant (not that that is a problem), it seems to me that mc has completely forgotten that his only goal(from what i understood) was to kill everyone in corn town and make the one that tortured his cousin suffer. I don't understand why mc started talking to his prey unlike these last few chapters.
