I think this chapter was full of information that is useless (at least for now). For example, mentioning that the enemy race managed to get the world engine from this or that source and that it has participated in so and so war is not important for the story for now and makes the reader try to memorize this information in fear it becomes important. Other than that a great chapter. It sets the precedent of why the fall is happening, why the World Orb is not the answer to every problem, and why there is a game-like system in place.
