1.in the episode, she woke up earlier thanks to the system, but this time she woke up after the girls were hurt. She could have explained herself if it wasn't for the language problem. She thought it would get even more complicated when Feng Jin's group arrived. Poor JPJ

Y’all need to chill and keep reading. I read the whole chapter and I can tell this is an alternate world where our Host didn’t have the System or didn’t have the Systems help in reincarnating. She reincarnated BUT she couldn’t understand their language while in this present dimension she could right away.
ok so what I am getting so far is that Wei Ci is a rebirther. Only he is surprised because the MC is not quite the way he remembers. And even the stories that the mom Gu Min told the dad Liu Shi are going off track (like she didn't meet all these friends of hers when she was young in the mom's stories. And several of them were actually on the other side). Plus she had told the dad that Liu Xi was known for being an sociopath and Wei Ci remembered that the MC did not have close relations to her dad....so I take this story as a glimpse as to what the original story would have been like if she had transmigrated without the system and had woken up too late (remember, originally she woke up in the carriage and she prevented the girls' rape). So that butterfly effect changed her future and the future of those around her. Thanks to that she was able to meet all of these important characters and win them to her side early. Although it was really jarring when you weren't expecting this alternate history to be just shoved in there
@.@ i suppose it is talking about the first future? Like our MC have a different begining un the first future? Beacuse of that Wei Ci thinks that something is different in this place (the novel that we are reading )....Wei Ci has already lived in the first future of the MC , and the MC's mother has only read the history of the first future of our MC and she has shared this with her husband ...
So, just a theory, but we now know from two separate sources (mom and zixiao) that the MC reincarnated and became the empress without the system. This time she has the system so she woke up earlier, and has her host's memories which she didn't have previously. The fact that the system is trying to force her into court intrigue makes me wonder if there was intent to change history and prevent her from becoming empress. Any guesses on why the system exists?
Is this the original timeline? We know that MC’s transmigrator mom knew about the plot beforehand, so maybe this is the world where MC’s mom is normal (not a transmigrator) and Wei Ci/Wei Zixiao doesn’t have memories of his past life because this IS that past life. Wei Ci and the teacher said that “this time MC has her father’s guidance, but it didn’t change much,” which implies that in the original timeline, because MC’s mom isn’t a transmigrator, MC’s dad is still a pure ancient person without modern views and wasn’t prepared for MC’s arrival, so they didn’t have a good relationship. The question is why does the MC have a system while the MC in the other timeline didn’t? And why did she wake up later (after the girls were already being r*ped)? The system said that selecting a host tore open a dimentional wall or something, which is how MC’s mom transmigrated, but MC would’ve arrived in Liu Lanting’s body anyway without the system? Thankfully having the system has turned out for the better, even if it’s motives are suspicious. MC would’ve turned out much more ruthless/emotionless if she didn’t have Liu Lanting’s memories, which made her become emotionally attached to the people in her life aka Shangguan Wan, fiancée Wei, Second Lady Gu, Madam Hu, the maids, etc.
