A clumsy float to everybody else but a majestic flight to the magpei a being able to demonstrate the superiority of flight better then they could ever imagine and reproduce with their now ever so lame insults.

Honestly, this is exactly how I'd imagine magpies would talk and act. I had one as a pet for about a year (rehoming it in a new area for various reasons), and she was demanding, loud, and sometimes very annoying. but she was also adorable a lot of the time.
