i kinda expected the hatchling to suddenly discover the solution to the spatial gates

intresting way of showing a choice of Class to not just know but to see , that experience that many will Envy and Disires!

For your information folks gravity is still better in a way than spatial magic because gravity magic can affect surrounding space in a way that it will be like storm on the sea therefore interfering with the teleporting away. So Mc should not have a problem with enemies thst teleport away ;D

Tq for the chapter. I'm glad that the hatchling did not discover the spatial tech secret. It sound cool but at the sometime kind of an insult to the other researchers since most of them already spend thousands of hour to reach and this hatchling can solve in within minutes.

So, not only do we have a fun breather from the wave now that its all over, but this is a great way to introduce us to more of the colony and how things have progressed! This really is a perfect gem of a novel.

I think being a Carver/mage will be very suitable for the hatchling. It also fills in the need for development and advancement of knowledge which the Colony severely lack compared to other race/kingdoms.
