You know, it's kinda sad that this will be most likely our last visit to the surface with Anthony. (At least until the end, when the ancients come back) The life of the monster really is sad. With constant progression they become trapped by their own power. Sure there could be exceptions, with mana control being a thing. Yet for the most part these monsters will never get to see the sun or never ending green fields of the surface. Also, I am glad nothing too serious has happened to the colony while Anthony was away. I though the author would've pulled sneaky and made the church attack while he was away.
I'm thinking he might be able to learn something from the legion to help combat the thin mana problem in higher layers, or perhaps a special evolution. Actually now that I think about it, pretty sure eventually mana won't be a problem if he's near a colony due to upgrades/evolutions to his vestibule.
